Two laser techniques can be used in lithium battery production

Lithium battery is now everywhere in our daily life. From smart phone to new energy vehicles, it has become the major power source for them. And in the production of lithium battery, there are two kinds of laser techniques that are widely used.


Laser welding
The production of lithium battery involves a pole piece welding procedure which requires welding the battery pole piece and the current collector piece together. The anode material requires welding the aluminum sheet and the aluminum foil. And the cathode material requires welding the copper foil and the nickle sheet. Suitable and optimized welding technique plays an important role in saving the production cost for lithium battery and maintaining its reliability. Traditional welding is ultrasonic welding which is easy to cause insufficient welding. What’s more, its welding head is easy to wear down and its wearing time is uncertain. Therefore, it is likely to lead to low yield. 

However, with UV laser welding technique, the outcome would be totally different. Since the lithium battery materials have higher absorption rate to UV laser light, the difficulty of welding is pretty low. Besides, the heat affecting zone is pretty small, making UV laser welding machine the most effective welding technique in lithium battery production. 

Laser marking
The lithium battery production involves many other procedures, including raw material information, production process and technique, production batch, manufacturer, production date and so on. How to track the whole production? Well, it requires storing these key information in a QR code. Traditional printing technique has the disadvantage of the marking being easy to fade away during transportation. Laser engraving machines are used in a wide variety of industries

Materials that handheld laser welder is applicable to process

Featuring high welding speed, high precision & efficiency and smooth weld line, handheld laser welder has become a “heated” technique in the industrial welding sector. There are a wide variety of applications for handheld laser welder, but many people don’t know what materials it is applicable to process. Today, we would like to list some of the most common materials below.


1.Die steel
Handheld laser welder is applicable to weld die steels of various types and has fantastic welding performance. 

2.Carbon steel
Using handheld laser welder to weld carbon steel can achieve good welding effect and the welding quality depends on the content of the impurity. In order to get the best welding quality, preheating needs to be performed if the carbon steel has over 25% of carbon so that micro-crack won’t occur.


3.Stainless steel

Is distilled water the only recommended cooling fluid for CW-6000 recirculating chiller?

Cooling fluid is key in the water circulation inside CW-6000 recirculating chiller. If the cooling fluid is not pure enough, water channel is easy to become blocked. Therefore, we often recommend impurity free water. So what is the recommended impurity free water then?


Well, distilled water, purified water and deionized water are all recommended. The purer the water, the lower level of the conductivity the water will be. And lower level of conductivity means less interference to the components inside the machine to be cooled. But it is also inevitable that some tiny particles will run into the water during the ongoing water circulation between this industrial water cooler and the machine to be cooled. Therefore, it is recommend that to change out the water on a regular basis. 3 months is an ideal changing recycle.
